THE retail price of RON97 petrol and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia has increased by three sen per litre each for the period from 17 to 23 July following the increase in world oil market prices.

The Ministry of Finance in a statement announced that the retail price of RON97 has been set at RM3.21 per litre compared to RM3.18 per litre previously.

The retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia has increased from RM2.88 per litre to RM2.91 per litre.

However, the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia still remains lower than the price floated on 10 June 2024, which is RM3.35 per litre.

The retail price of RON95 petrol remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre, while the price of diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan also remains at RM2.15 per litre.

This weekly price determination is made based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula which takes into account the movement of world crude oil prices.

The government will continue to monitor global market developments and coordinate retail petroleum prices by taking into account price stability and the welfare of the people.

The Ministry of Finance also stressed that appropriate measures will continue to be taken to ensure that the well-being of the people is always maintained. - July 16, 2025
