KUALA TERENGGANU – Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) will soon set up an Infectious Disease Research Centre under its Medical Faculty.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan said the centre was proposed by the specialist unit at the varsity’s Teaching Hospital.

“A proposal paper, including on the requirements of the centre, such as a laboratory and research facilities, as well as the cost, will be tabled soon,” he told reporters here today.

He said the establishment of the centre was mooted following UniSZA’s success in introducing the Covid-19 Risk Assessment and Self-Health Monitoring, or ChaSe, app recently. – Bernama, December 25, 2020
