A MAN who was riding a motorcycle under the influence of drugs suffered light injuries after he lost control and crashed into the glass door of the Emergency Zone (Green Zone) of the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ), early this morning.
Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor, said police received a report on the incident from an Assistant Medical Officer at 5.03 am.
According to him, the results of a urine test found that the 28-year-old motorcyclist tested positive for methamphetamine.
"Initial investigations found that the incident occurred at about 3 am when the suspect, riding a Yamaha Nouvo LC motorcycle, came from Jalan Sultan Mahmud towards the hospital's emergency zone.
"Upon arriving at the scene, the man suddenly lost control and crashed into the glass door in the green zone, causing the suspect to suffer minor injuries to his right and left hands," he said.
Azli said that a further check found that the motorcycle belonged to the suspect's biological brother, and the vehicle's road tax (LKM) was also found to have expired since April 22, 2025.
The suspect is still being held in the hospital ward for treatment.
"Police are still conducting further investigations into the driver's license status and the suspect's occupation," he added. – June 23, 2026
