A CAMBODIAN travel agent pleaded guilty today at the Sepang Sessions Court today to two charges involving criminal force and the use of offensive language against Batik Air personnel during an incident on 28 September.
Lin Weida, 41, entered the plea before Judge Ahmad Fuad Othman after the charges were read in Mandarin by a court interpreter.
Although the pleas were recorded, sentencing was deferred to tomorrow, as the offences fall under the jurisdiction of the Magistrates’ Court.
The first charge relates to the use of criminal force against Batik Air security officer Sheikh Muhammad Syafiq Sh Khalid at the Satellite Building of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at approximately 7.50 pm.
The charge is filed under Section 352 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of three months’ imprisonment, a fine of RM1,000, or both upon conviction.
The second charge concerns the use of abusive language towards cabin crew member Yuszai Yusof earlier the same day, at around 5.20 pm, during flight OD606 from Hong Kong to KLIA Terminal 1. This offence falls under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, which provides for a maximum fine of RM100.
The prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Norfarhanim Abdul Halim. The accused was unrepresented. - September 30, 2025
