A SECURITY guard was charged in the Kemaman Sessions Court today with three charges of raping a girl in a surau in the city last month.

The accused, Mohd Afizzafri Mohammed Residalan, 30, who works at a supermarket, pleaded not guilty after all charges were read out before Judge Wan Suhaila Mohd.

According to the first charge, the man is accused of raping a 9-year 10-month-old girl last month, from about 12 midnight to 6 am in a surau in Taman Jakar.

For the second charge, the accused is accused of committing the same act in a children's toy shop in a supermarket near the surau on the same day and time.

The accused is also accused of raping the child in a Perodua Bezza vehicle in the supermarket compound on the same day and time.

The accused was charged with committing all three offences under section 376(2)(e) which is punishable by imprisonment of not less than 10 years and not more than 30 years and whipping.

Wan Suhaila then allowed the accused to be bailed at RM24,000, which is RM8,000 for each charge.

The judge set November 5 as the mention of the case. - October 8, 2025
