THE body of the late Yap Shing Xuen, 16, who died after being stabbed in an incident at a school in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, arrived safely at the Nirvana Memorial Park Crematorium, here, this afternoon for the cremation ceremony.

The special vehicle carrying the body of the deceased arrived at the crematorium compound at approximately 12.20 pm, to a tearful ceremony with family members and close friends.

More than 100 individuals, including the deceased's relatives, friends and school staff, were present to pay their last respects before the cremation process was carried out.

Earlier, the last respects ceremony was held at the Nirvana Centre in Kuala Lumpur starting at around 9.30am, before the body was taken to Shah Alam for the next customary ceremony.

The cremation process is expected to be carried out privately with only the immediate family present.

Earlier, a hundred blue and white balloons - the favourite colours Shing Xuen were released into the sky as a symbol of blessing and remembrance for the teenager. – October 20, 2025
