A CLEANER was killed on his way to work after the motorcycle he was riding hit a horse on Jalan Sempang Bukit Kuda, Merlimau, Jasin this morning.
The accident at 7.10am claimed the life of Rajak Ismail, 59, who was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head injuries.
Acting Jasin District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Nor Azlinda Nordin said the accident is believed to have occurred when the victim was riding a motorcycle from Serkam towards his workplace at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Jasin.
He said that upon arriving at the location, the victim is believed to have hit a horse that had suddenly crossed. The victim's death was confirmed by a medical officer.
"The victim's body has been sent to the Forensic Unit, Jasin Hospital for an autopsy," he said as reported by Kosmo!
According to him, the investigation found that there was no closed-circuit television (CCTV) in the nearby area, but police were able to trace the owner of the animal.
"The police took a statement from the horse owner and we ask members of the public who have information to contact Investigating Officer, Inspector Ahmad Aqil Yusoff at 013-9393747," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. - October 28, 2025
