It is understood that the student had just finished sitting for the first day of his SPM examination before his father came to pick him up to return to their home in Kupang.

At the time of the incident, the man, aged in his 40s, is believed to have suddenly had a seizure while driving, before trying to hold the steering wheel tightly to avoid hitting anyone, causing the Perodua Viva he was driving to lose control and crash into the wall of a house.

Baling Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Zulkhairi Mat Tanjil said they received a call regarding the incident at 4.35 pm today.

He said that the incident was said to have happened suddenly and at that time the car was being driven slowly.

“The victim’s father was trapped at the time but was not seriously injured and was successfully extricated with the help of passers-by.

“According to the student involved, his father had a health record of having seizures. The student only suffered a wound on his lip while his father suffered a small cut on his head,” he said.

Zulkhairi said that a total of six members led by Senior Fire Officer (PBK) II Zulhelmi Bahari also provided initial treatment to the victim before handing him over to the ambulance and police for further action. – November 5, 2025
