Anwar revisits childhood home in Cherok Tok Kun
The humble home symbolises the core of his struggles today - justice, dignity, and love for the rakyat.

DATUK Seri Anwar Ibrahim who arrived in Penang yesterday evening to launch two major projects today, returned to Cherok Tok Kun, Bukit Mertajam to meet his brother and sister and immediate family who still live there.

The modest wooden house, where he grew up, holds deep sentimental value for the prime minister.

"Between these old walls, there are still fresh voices and fragments of times from the past.

"It continues to stand intact, storing a thousand stories of joy and sorrow, sadness and happiness, besides becoming a nostalgic landmark that leaves an impression and is unforgettable," he wrote on Facebook.

The humble home symbolises the core of his struggles today - justice, dignity, and love for the rakyat.

Anwar will later launch the Seberang Prai Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Butterworth and the proposed upgrading of the Sungai Dua-Juru toll stretch into an elevated highway along the North-South Expressway. - November 8, 2025
