POLICE have confirmed the arrest of 13 individuals, including a woman, who gathered outside the Kelantan State Palace allegedly to hand over old items to palace representatives.
Kelantan Police Chief, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat, said those detained were aged between 26 and 67.
“Urine tests showed that five of them tested positive for drugs,” he said in a statement today.
“At about 11.40am yesterday, we received information that a group of men and women had gathered in front of the Istana Negeri.
Preliminary investigations at the scene found that their purpose was to hand over several old items before all were detained,” he added.
All 13 suspects have been remanded for four days until Saturday.
The case is being investigated under Section 143 of the Penal Code and Section 7(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
Datuk Mohd Yusoff said further investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
