Police urge public not to sensationalise case as investigations continue - November 15, 2025

A NEWBORN baby girl, still with her umbilical cord attached, was found in a village house toilet near the Sungai Dua area on Thursday morning.
Seberang Perai Utara District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Anuar Abdul Rahman, said the police received information about the discovery from a member of the public at around 6.28 am before officers were dispatched to the scene.
“Following an inspection by personnel from the Seberang Perai Utara District Police Headquarters (IPD) and the Forensics Unit of the Penang Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK), the baby was found to be alive and fully formed,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
The infant was taken to Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ), where she was confirmed to be in normal and healthy condition, before being handed over to the Social Welfare Department (JKM) for further action.
Anuar also urged the public not to sensationalise the incident while police investigations remain ongoing. He appealed for anyone with information to contact the Investigating Officer, Inspector Irwan Shah Sumadi, at 04-576 2222 (extension 2275) or approach the nearest police station to assist.
The case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code for concealment of birth. - November 15, 2025
