A MAN'S tactic of hiding a quantity of drugs in his underwear to smuggle them out of the country failed after he was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) 2, Sepang, recently.
The foreign suspect, in his 40s, was was arrested at about 7.40am on November 20 along with a quantity of drugs worth RM38,000.
Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) Director, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, said the arrest follows information received from the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Taiwan regarding the suspect's presence in this country.
He said police then followed the suspect's movements before he was arrested trying to leave the country.
"Checks found a quantity of heroin and methamphetamine drugs placed in his underwear," he told a press conference at the Kuala Selangor District Police Headquarters, today.
He added that the results of the interrogation then led to a raid on an apartment unit around Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur and the arrest of four men including a local aged 40 to 50 years old.
Hussein said the syndicate's modus operandi was to put the drugs in condoms before hiding them in their underwear.
"All those arrested acted as associates, coordinators and transporters with the syndicate having been active since the end of December last year. The drugs were obtained from local suppliers for distribution abroad," he said.
He said the police also seized two cars, a Mercedes Benz GLC 250 and a Perodua Bezza worth RM196,000.
“We are looking for the drug supplier and all suspects are now remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said. – November 24, 2025
