PM to finalise MADANI cabinet after careful consideration
PM welcomes the reappointment of three key Senators to ensure policy continuity - December 3, 2025

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to finalise the list of Ministers and Deputy Ministers for the MADANI government following a careful, measured process focused on the welfare of the people and the broader agenda of national reform.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday said the decision will take into account the need for policy continuity and administrative consolidation.

“The Prime Minister will also decide the list of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the MADANI Government after a careful, prudent process, truly guided by the interests of the people and the direction of national reform,” the statement read.

In the meantime, Anwar welcomed the reappointment of three Senators for a second term: Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir, and Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar.

“The Prime Minister welcomes the reappointment of Saifuddin, Zambry Abdul Kadir, and Mohd Na’im as members of the Dewan Negara for their second term, effective today.

“This appointment allows them to continue their crucial duties for policy continuity, governance, and national reform in line with the Malaysia MADANI vision,” the statement added.

Earlier, the three Ministers were sworn in as Senators to extend their service in the Cabinet. The ceremony was conducted before the Yang di-Pertua Dewan Negara, Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.

The move comes amid pending Cabinet appointments, including the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, previously held by Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

Yesterday, Public Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi was assigned to oversee the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.

Other vacancies include the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, currently temporarily held by Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan and Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, respectively.

The Prime Minister is expected to announce the new Cabinet appointments later this month, aiming to strengthen governance and advance the MADANI agenda. - December 3, 2025
