THE Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has established a special investigation team to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the shooting deaths of three men in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, on 24 November.
The probe will follow strict procedures and internal protocols, authorities confirmed.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail emphasised today that the investigation would be thorough, taking into account all available evidence and statements, including those from police officers involved in the operation.
“I believe the families have engaged lawyers and raised issues regarding audio recordings and other materials. All of that will be incorporated into the investigation, including the officers involved in the operation; everything will be taken into consideration,” he told reporters following the Ministry of Home Affairs’ monthly assembly in Putrajaya.
He added, “This falls within the scope of the special investigation committee announced by the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Datuk M. Kumar. I will not ‘jump the gun’. They have structured procedures for collecting statements and will adhere to the police team’s protocols.”
The minister further clarified that the special task force would carry out its duties in accordance with existing procedures, interviewing all relevant parties before drawing conclusions.
“There is no interference from my side in the investigation process; it is entirely left to the appointed team,” he said.
On Wednesday, PDRM confirmed it had received an audio recording linked to the shooting incident, which was submitted directly by the victims’ family along with a mobile phone for further examination.
The special task force was initially established by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department on 3 December to investigate the claims made by the families of the three deceased men.
The announcement underscores the authorities’ commitment to a transparent and methodical review of the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. - December 11, 2025
