THE victories by Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates in the Kinabatangan Parliament and the Lamag State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-elections were described as a great trust to continue the legacy of the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said that this is because throughout his life, the late Bung Moktar always placed the interests of the people in both areas as a priority in his struggle.

"The success of Naim Kurniawan Moktar in the Kinabatangan Parliament and Mohd Ismail Ayob (MIHA) in the Lamag DUN demands continued commitment to ensure the continuity of services and local development can continue," he said in a post on Facebook today.

Through the same post, Ahmad Zahid also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all voters in the Kinabatangan Parliament and the Lamag DUN for the mandate given in the by-election.

He also informed that the BN victory also reflects the people's confidence in the continuity of leadership and the stability expected in the area.

Ahmad Zahid also expressed his appreciation to the entire BN machinery as well as his friends in the Sabah Government who worked together to ensure the party's victory. – January 24, 2026
