THE implementation of the diagnostics-related group system in the private healthcare sector, the government’s push to increase the use of local products in investment activity and concerns over digital exclusion linked to MyDigital ID featured prominently during today’s Dewan Rakyat sitting.
According to the Order Paper published on Parliament’s official website, Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail is scheduled to question the Health Minister during the oral question-and-answer session on the latest status of the diagnostics-related group system in the private healthcare industry.
She is also seeking clarification on regulatory and monitoring mechanisms to ensure that insurance or takaful operators do not influence or interfere with medical decisions made by specialists and doctors.
In the same session, Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi is set to raise the issue of investment policy with the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry.
Her question focuses on the government’s short-, medium- and long-term strategies to increase the use of local products across both foreign direct investment and domestic direct investment.
Digital inclusion is also on the agenda, with Merbok MP Mohd Nazri Abu Hassan expected to ask the Home Minister how the ministry plans to ensure that senior citizens, persons with disabilities, rural communities and Orang Asli are not marginalised should security and immigration services become fully reliant on MyDigital ID.
Following the oral question-and-answer segment, the Dewan Rakyat sitting continued with the winding-up debate on the motion of thanks for the Royal Address by the relevant ministries.
The current Dewan Rakyat session is scheduled to sit for 20 days and will continue until March 3 - February 4, 2026
