TWO suspects in the case of the discovery of human skeletons, including five children, in a house that burned down in an oil palm plantation area in Kangkar Pulai, Skudai last month, have arrived at the Johor Bahru Court Complex to face charges.
The two local men arrived at 9am in a police vehicle.
They will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries a death sentence or imprisonment of not less than 30 years and a maximum of 40 years and whipping of not less than 12 strokes.
A suspect, believed to be a friend of the two adult victims, was seen wearing ordinary clothes with his hands handcuffed separately.
Media practitioners also began arriving at the Court Complex as early as 7am to cover the case that has shocked the nation. #Yesterday, Johor Police Chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad reportedly said that the husband of one of the victims filed a report at the Iskandar Puteri District Police Headquarters (IPD) on January 9, after finding a human skeleton while searching for his wife and children who were reported missing.
Following the discovery, he reportedly said that the forensic pathology team from the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) and the Johor police forensics conducted an examination and autopsy on the skeleton that was found in the house located near an abandoned temple. – February 4, 2026
