POLICE have confirmed that the discovery of a man and a woman found dead inside a house in Section U13, Setia Alam, does not involve any element of crime.
Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol said authorities received a report on the discovery from a man who is a family member of the female victim.
He said the man informed police that he had found the woman’s body along with the body of a male inside a rented house owned by his younger sister.
“Initial police investigations together with the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters forensic team found that the house was closed, with no vehicles present, and the front metal door was not locked.
“Both deceased were found inside a room on the ground floor and both bodies were decomposed.
“The condition inside the rented house was orderly and there were no elements of a criminal incident. There were no injuries on the bodies of both deceased,” he said in a statement issued yesterday morning.
Ramsay said both bodies would be sent to Shah Alam Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
“At this stage, the case is being investigated as a sudden death (SDR) and the investigation paper will be taken over by the Officer in Charge of the Section 6 Police Station, Shah Alam.
“Any individual with further information can contact the investigating officer, the Officer in Charge of the Section 6 Police Station, Inspector Izzman Mohd Idrus, at 013-4003355,” he said.
Meanwhile, a neighbour identified as Iman, 31, claimed that he and his wife frequently heard the couple arguing both day and night.
“They often argued, sometimes outside the house and sometimes inside, at night and during the day. However, the arguments subsided about two weeks ago.
“I also asked my wife whether the occupants had moved out or were forced to leave, because previously they were very noisy. We thought maybe someone had lodged a complaint and they had already moved out,” he said.
However, he said his wife noticed a foul smell several days ago without suspecting anything unusual.
“About three days ago, my wife was washing clothes at the back and noticed a bad smell. At the time, she thought a cat had died. None of us expected that there would be bodies inside the house,” he said.
Iman said he was shocked when police later arrived at the location and confirmed the discovery of the bodies.
“When I returned home, the police were already here and were looking for neighbours to speak to. They asked me what I knew and I told them everything,” he said. - February 9, 2026
