PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday received a courtesy visit from the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific - a non-governmental organisation serving as a hub for strategic thought in the Asia-Pacific region.
In a Facebook post, he said KSI focuses on policy dialogue, strategic thinking, as well as the hosting of economic forums that bring together government leaders, the private sector and relevant stakeholders.
“Today's meeting was an important space to introduce KSI's mission and aspirations in strengthening nation-building through fundamental dialogue, strategic thinking and innovation.
“I also appreciate the discussions about the potential strategic cooperation that is in line with the MADANI Malaysia agenda, particularly in nation-building, leadership development with integrity and sustainable welfare of the people,” he said.
Among those present at the meeting were KSI President Tan Sri Michael Yeoh, Chairman Tan Sri Majid Khan, Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Iqbal Rawther, KSI International Advisory Board Chairman Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid, Advisor Datuk Ramesh Kodammal and Executive Director Caroline Cheong.
During the meeting, KSI highlighted its role as a strategic think tank focused on inclusive nation-building, ethical and values-based leadership, and research-driven policy innovation.
KSI expressed hope that the engagement would pave the way for closer collaboration with the Government, enabling the institute to play a more active role in contributing to the Malaysia MADANI vision and long-term national resilience.
Recently, KSI, along with the LSE IDEAS and ASEAN Business Club (ABC), hosted a conference on Malaysia and ASEAN at the Geopolitical Crossroads at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Opening the conference, LSE president and vice-chancellor Professor Larry Kramer and Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, chairman of the Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), emphasised that a fragmented global order demands stronger and closer trade relations.
The conference also featured the UK–Asean Business Excellence Awards, which recognised prominent business leaders, including Tan Sri Francis Yeoh of YTL Corp Bhd, with the Global Icon Award, while the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Petra Group Chairman, Datuk Vinod Sekhar. – February 10, 2026
