MALAYSIA is advancing its diplomatic and strategic energy agenda with Indonesia through a high-level visit led by the Deputy Prime Minister II Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
The delegation will be in Jakarta from 10 to 12 February 2026 to strengthen bilateral relations and explore collaboration in sustainable energy.
The visit signals Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to enhancing strategic partnerships with Indonesia, particularly in the energy sector with a focus on clean energy transition and regional sustainability.
Fadillah, who also serves as the Minister of Energy Transition and Water (PETRA), said: “This visit reflects Malaysia’s dedication to progressive energy diplomacy and our role as a strategic partner in shaping the ASEAN climate and energy agenda.”
During the visit, Fadillah will participate as a panel member at the ASEAN Climate Forum (ACF) High-Level Session on 11 February, themed “ASEAN Climate Diplomacy.”
Malaysia’s involvement highlights the country’s leadership in addressing climate change challenges while reinforcing its position as a key partner in regional climate initiatives.
In addition to the forum, the Deputy Prime Minister II is scheduled to meet Indonesia’s Special Presidential Envoy on Energy, Bapak Hashim Djojohadikusumo, to discuss opportunities for strategic collaboration and investment in sustainable energy projects.
Diplomatic engagements also include a formal dinner and discussions with the Speaker of Indonesia’s People’s Consultative Assembly, Bapak Ahmad Muzani, aimed at fostering stronger bilateral ties.
The visit aligns with the principles of the Malaysia MADANI agenda, reflecting a forward-looking approach to regional energy diplomacy and Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable development, energy transition, and strategic collaboration within Southeast Asia. - February 10, 2026
