MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Bali today said he was fully open to being investigated by any independent committee established by the Government to specifically examine matters related to his shareholding.
“I have nothing to hide. I have submitted all financial and asset declarations in accordance with the public service regulations and through the prescribed official channels, as required of every public officer.
“I welcome any transparent, independent and objective process to ascertain the facts based on evidence and in accordance with the principles of justice and the rule of law,” he said in a statement.
He stressed that such an approach is important not only to safeguard my personal integrity but also to preserve public confidence in the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission as an institution.
“As a public servant and head of an enforcement agency, I believe that any individual facing allegations should be open and prepared to be investigated independently and transparently.
“This principle must apply to all without exception.”
He said a culture of accountability cannot be selective or seasonal.
He explained that MACC takes note of every report and complaint submitted by any party, including non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and will assess all information in accordance with the law and facts obtained through lawful investigative processes.
“No one is above the law, and equally, no one should be judged solely on perception or media narratives.
“Throughout my service, I remain committed to the principles of transparency, accountability and the rule of law. I will continue to cooperate fully with any lawful, properly constituted mechanism examining this matter.
“I am confident that the truth will prevail through a fair and independent process,” added Azam. – February 13, 2026
