THE head of Bersatu associate wing, Dr Chong Fat Full, today announced his resignation from the party, after claiming that the party was almost 'buried'.

Dr Chong said that the situation was due to the leadership of Bersatu President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who was described as disappointing the party's grassroots.

He however stressed that there was no need to submit an official notification regarding the matter to Bersatu.

The former Pemanis State Assemblyman (ADUN) also informed that a third of the members of the wing had also followed in his footsteps by leaving Bersatu.

"I am the one who developed the Bersatu wing and now a third of the members want to leave. In fact, we met with former Deputy President, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin to discuss because we do not want to leave the party blindly.

Former Senate president Tan Sri Rais Yatim also confirmed he had resigned as chairman of a Bersatu committee formed to strengthen party unity, saying his role had become “futile”. – February 14, 2026
