KUALA LUMPUR – Port Klang Authority’s headquarters have been closed for sanitation after two staffers tested positive for Covid-19.
The first staff member tested positive on December 29, and another yesterday.
In a statement on Facebook, PKA general-manager K. Subramaniam said transactions are unlikely to be disrupted as they are managed by its online system.
Physical submission of documents will be deferred until the office reopens for business tomorrow.
It will reopen tomorrow for Free Zone and Dangerous Goods transactions.
The headquarters will reopen on January 4.
It added that all employees who have been in direct contact with positive cases will undergo testing and observe home quarantine, and contact tracing is now underway.
“We will continue to be vigilant in our efforts to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus while ensuring that the port and logistics sector continue to operate with minimal interruption to the supply chain,” Subramaniam said. – The Vibes, January 1, 2021
