PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to announce "good news" for Malaysians ahead of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, said his senior press secretary, Tunku Nashrul Abaidah.

"InsyaAllah, the prime minister will announce some good news for the people in the near future, ahead of Aidilfitri.

“Let us await the announcement," he said during the prime minister's office daily briefing today.

He said the announcement was in line with the MADANI Government's determination to listen to the people's grievances and continue to take every effort to ensure that welfare is a priority.

"The MADANI Government will continue to take every effort to ensure that the people's welfare is always a priority, in line with the determination to build a more just, prosperous and harmonious country.

"God willing, the Prime Minister will also announce more good news for the people in the near future, ahead of the Aidilfitri celebration," he said.

Tunku Nashrul added that the announcement followed the seven immediate intervention measures of the MADANI Government announced by the Prime Minister today.

"As a recap, among the main announcements made by the Prime Minister this morning are the early crediting of the Phase 1 Cash Contribution (STR) starting tomorrow, the distribution of the 2026 Special Financial Assistance involving civil servants, retirees and veterans, as well as imams, bilals, KAFA teachers and so on.

“This morning, we also heard that the expansion of the Rahmah MADANI Sales Program series nationwide will be carried out, in addition to the expansion of the FlySiswa flight ticket subsidy initiative.

“This is among the announcements made by the Prime Minister this morning, where seven things in total have already been announced,” he added. – March 9, 2026
