THE journey home for two soldiers to celebrate Hari Raya turned tragic when they died in an accident involving four vehicles at Kilometre 70, Jalan Kuala Terengganu – Kota Bahru near Kampung Buluh, today.

In the accident at 12.05 pm, the two victims, Muhammad Aminuddin Amran, 21, and Mohamad Shakiran Saidi, 36, died from serious injuries to the head and body.

Setiu District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd. Zain Mat Dris said that at the time of the incident, the two soldiers who were serving at Kem Tebrau, Johor, were said to be on their way home to Pulai Chondong, Machang and Kampung Kedondong, Pasir Mas, Kelantan.

“Upon arriving at the scene, the car driven by Muhammad Aminuddin is said to have suddenly lost control and entered the opposite lane before colliding with a trailer driven by a 38-year-old man.

“The impact of the collision caused the trailer involved to slide into the opposite lane and collide with another car before crashing into a multi-purpose vehicle, which was parked in a garage on the side of the road,” he told Kosmo! – March 16, 2026
