PKR will not protect any member, including MPs, who are involved in misconduct cases such as corruption.

Its Information Chief, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, said this was in line with the slogan often chanted by President and Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Following this, he said, PKR is ready to cooperate with the authorities following the alleged involvement of a party member in the issue of embezzlement of funds worth RM10 million.

"The PKR leadership has so far been informed of the news report containing the statements and allegations of the individual in question.

"Therefore, we leave it entirely to the authorities to conduct further investigations if there is any wrongdoing.

"We have nothing to hide, and PKR will cooperate with the enforcement authorities," he told a press conference to commemorate the 219th Police Day at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) today.

On further action by the party, Fahmi said any investigation must begin with the complainant lodging an official report with the enforcement bodies, such as the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) or the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

"It's up to the complainant to make a police report or to any other enforcement bodies. That is the process that must be followed before further action is taken,” he said.

Yesterday, businessman Victor Chin Boon Long had claimed that a PKR MP had asked him for RM10 million in cash to resolve alleged "corporate mafia” issues. - March 25, 2026
