KUALA LUMPUR – PAS has called on Perikatan Nasional allies Umno and Bersatu to be tolerant and take lessons from past events to continue to provide good leadership and integrity.

In a statement today, PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said his party does not want to be part of any political polemics that will threaten the country’s unity, stability, peace, and economy.

“PAS is dedicated to empowering Muafakat Nasional as well as defending the PN government.

“We believe only true unity will bring the country harmony and growth, as will respecting each other’s races, religion, and culture.”

He said that PAS is of the view that all parties should be committed, honest, and responsible when governing the country, especially during these hard times.

Over the past few days, Umno divisions have been openly calling for the top leadership to stop cooperating with Bersatu.
