CABINET ministers today extended Aidiladha greetings and urged all Muslims to reflect on the true meaning of sacrifice. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail hoped that Muslims would appreciate and apply the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son, Prophet Ismail AS, in their daily lives.

Saifuddin Nasution, who is currently performing the Hajj, also conveyed Aidiladha greetings to security personnel for their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation's borders, and prayed that their contributions would be rewarded by Allah SWT.

"I also call on those returning to their hometowns to always be careful on the road, so that our arrival will be joyfully welcomed by our loved ones,” he said in a video clip uploaded on Facebook, reported Bernama.

Meanwhile, Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said Aidiladha reminds Muslims of the great story of sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim AS and Prophet Ismail AS, which reflects complete obedience to the commands of Allah SWT.

"On this blessed day, let us together appreciate the true meaning of Aidiladha, which demands values of sacrifice, sincerity, gratitude and compassion for one another,” he said.

Armizan said that the Aidiladha celebration should also serve as a platform to strengthen humility, as well as to remain grateful for all blessings and to continue sharing sustenance and doing good for those in need.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, meanwhile, said that Aidiladha is not merely celebrated through ritual sacrifice, but is also a day to appreciate the values of compassion, unity and responsibility within society.

He said Malaysia would continue to grow stronger when its people choose unity over division and nurture mutual respect and love in community life.

"In terms of the country's diversity of race, religion and culture, Aidiladha carries an important message of compassion, togetherness and mutual respect.

"The story of the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim NS and Prophet Ismail AS teaches us that the strength of a nation is born when its people are willing to share, help and stand together regardless of differences,” he posted on Facebook.

Ramanan, who is the Sungai Buloh Member of Parliament, also stressed that the true strength of the Malaysia MADANI vision lies in the people's willingness to work together and care for one another regardless of background.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo also conveyed Aidiladha wishes through social media on behalf of his ministry.

May this Aidiladha celebration instil a stronger sense of gratitude and togetherness among all of us,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) expressed hope that the Aidiladha 1447H celebration would bring peace, repentance and well-being to all Muslims in the country.

"Guided by the principles of MADANI, let us continue to cultivate the values of sacrifice, compassion and togetherness to strengthen national unity.

"May the appreciation of Aidiladha strengthen brotherhood and foster shared prosperity towards a more harmonious, progressive and prosperous Malaysia,” it posted on Facebook. – May 27, 2026
