PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today led national tributes to Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, in conjunction with His Majesty's Official Birthday, reaffirming the government's loyalty to the constitutional monarchy and highlighting the King's role as a unifying figure for the nation.

In a message shared on Facebook, Anwar conveyed his congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the MADANI Government and the Malaysian people, while offering prayers for the continued health, wellbeing and prosperity of Sultan Ibrahim, Her Majesty Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah and the entire Royal Family.

The Prime Minister emphasised the enduring significance of the monarchy within Malaysia's constitutional framework, describing the institution as a symbol of national harmony and an essential pillar safeguarding the country's democratic and social fabric.

He expressed hope that Sultan Ibrahim would continue to guide the nation with fairness and wisdom while upholding the responsibilities entrusted to the throne under the Federal Constitution.

“On behalf of the MADANI Government and all Malaysians, I pray that His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, and the entire Royal Family are blessed with lasting good health and remain under the protection and mercy of Allah SWT.

“May His Majesty continue to reign over the nation with justice and fairness, and remain at the highest position within the country's constitutional framework, in line with the role of the royal institution as the protector of Islam and a symbol of unity and wellbeing for all communities in this country.

“I and all the people will continue to demonstrate unwavering loyalty to the institution of constitutional monarchy. Daulat Tuanku,” Anwar said.

The message comes as Malaysians nationwide mark the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, an occasion that celebrates the King's service to the nation and recognises the constitutional monarchy's role in preserving unity among Malaysia's diverse communities.

Anwar's tribute also underscored the government's continued support for the monarchy as a cornerstone of national stability, constitutional continuity and inter-communal harmony, reflecting the longstanding relationship between the elected government and the royal institution in Malaysia's system of governance.

On a similar note, Deputy Prime Minister II Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has extended his congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, in conjunction with the official birthday celebration of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

In a Facebook message, Fadillah said he, together with all Malaysians, prayed that His Majesty and the Royal Family would be blessed with continued good health and remain under the protection and grace of Allah.

“May the King continue to reign with majesty, sovereignty and honour, guiding the nation and its people with wisdom and fairness,” he said. - June 1, 2026
