DAP confirmed that it will field candidates in 17 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats in the upcoming Johor State Election (PRN).

DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke said the 17 constituencies include 10 seats won in the last election, four seats they lost, and three new seats they are targeting.

"We have said that we will defend all the seats that we won in the last election. We won 10 out of the 14 seats that we contested. So, we will contest the four seats that we lost again.

"We are considering three additional seats. So, in total, we are considering contesting 17 seats," he said

Loke said that DAP will also defend all 11 of its state assembly seats in Negeri Sembilan.

He stated that the decision to dissolve the Negeri Sembilan state assembly was reached by consensus among the top leadership of the state's Pakatan Harapan (PH).

He slammed the statement of former PKR Deputy President, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, who claimed that the dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan state assembly was due to pressure from DAP and described it as an absurd claim.

"This is completely absurd to say that this is pressure from DAP... Everyone in PH Negeri Sembilan, whether PKR, DAP, Amanah, all support the dissolution," he said.

Loke, however, assured that the dynamic and fierce clashes at the state level will not affect the working relationship and administrative functions of the Federal Government, which are currently reported to be intact and running well. – June 7, 2026
