GEORGE TOWN – A 62-year-old man died while hiking near the Youth Park at Tg Tokong near here this morning.

The man has been identified as Wong Kai Lee and was confirmed dead by medical officers from the state Health Department, who arrived at the scene at about 10am.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a distress call from the public at about 9.45am.

He said a team from the Bagan Jermal fire station rushed to the scene after receiving the call.

“The victim was found lying unconscious between the third and fifth station, before being declared dead by the medical team.”

The body has been sent to Penang Hospital for post-mortem to determine the cause of death. – The Vibes, January 4, 2021
