FOUR of six students from a Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) in Johor have been expelled following allegations of bullying, while two others have been suspended pending further investigation by the police.

The decision was confirmed by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, who said the action was taken after the MRSM disciplinary committee convened earlier today.

He said the expulsions were enforced after repeated warnings had been issued, adding that the disciplinary outcome reflected the seriousness of the case.

“Only God knows how I felt when the parents came to take their six children home this morning after the MRSM Disciplinary Committee convened and decided to expel them over the bullying case.

“However, repeated warnings had been given. #YouTouchYouGo.

“Two of them have been suspended until the police complete their investigations and determine whether they were also involved in physical contact in connection with the bullying incident,” he said in a Facebook post.

He added that the two suspended students would remain under suspension until police investigations determine whether they were directly involved in physical bullying.

The disciplinary action follows instructions issued earlier for MARA’s Secondary Education Division and MRSM administrators to hold an urgent meeting within 24 hours to investigate and take action against six Form Five students suspected of involvement in bullying at an MRSM in Johor.

The case first came to light after a parent reportedly shared concerns on social media platform Threads, alleging their child had requested to transfer schools due to bullying.

Following a police report lodged by the victim’s family, six Form Five students were remanded for two days at the Bakri district police headquarters to assist investigations. - July 1, 2026
