CONSTRUCTIVE recommendations, critical insights, and strategic policy evaluations from the academic community on the execution of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) will be formally presented to the Cabinet to ensure national development goals are effectively met.
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil emphasised that academic feedback is vital for assessing whether policies mapped under the five-year roadmap are delivering their intended public benefit.
"I see the input, recommendations, views, and constructive criticism provided by our academic peers as crucial to digest—not only for the Ministry of Economy, but for every minister and ministry," Fahmi said.
"The discourse provides a platform to review the progress of RMK13 thus far, ensuring that planned initiatives truly achieve their intended purpose."
Following the Public Discourse Conference on the 13th Malaysia Plan: Direction and Challenges, Fahmi confirmed that Universiti Malaya’s International Institute of Public Policy and Management (INPUMA) has been commissioned to compile a detailed report on the session's findings for Cabinet review.
Highlighting the need for fiscal responsibility and institutional integrity, Fahmi stressed that strict oversight will govern all programmes funded under the national plan.
"The execution of projects under RMK13 must strictly uphold proper governance standards to prevent any misuse, kleptocracy, corruption, or related integrity breaches," he added. - October 6, 2026
