THE father of a Form One student who chased his three friends with a box cutter last Thursday has lodged a police report claiming his son was being bullied, leading him to lose control.
Alor Gajah District Police Chief, Superintendent Ahmad Abu Bakar, said the father of the male student lodged the report at the Alor Gajah District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 6.24 pm, Friday.
According to him, the father claimed that their son was being bullied by the student involved, leading him to act in that manner, during a program in the school's open hall.
“Police have opened an investigation under Section 307B of the Penal Code on bullying, and a thorough investigation will continue before the investigation papers are referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for further instructions,” he said.
He said that, until now, the parents of the three male students who were chased have not lodged police reports.
In the incident, a Form One student at a secondary school chased his three friends while holding a box cutter after he was believed to have been bullied.
Initial investigations found that the incident broke out after the suspect became upset after ice was thrown at him.
The suspect then pulled out the knife from his pencil case before chasing one of the victims for about 50 meters to the school prayer area.
The tense situation also caused two other students who were with the victim to run away for fear of being hurt. – July 11, 2026
