THE early vote counting process for the 16th Johor State Election (PRN) began at 5 pm, the Election Commission (EC) announced via a post on Facebook.

The EC said the public should refer to its official announcement to obtain authentic information.

"The public is advised to refer to the EC's official announcement for authentic information on election results.

"Avoid spreading or believing any false information as it affects the smooth running of the election process," it said in a post.

As of 4 pm this afternoon, 63.13 per cent or 1,693,625 voters have fulfilled their responsibilities.

The EC said the Semarang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) recorded the highest voter turnout of 72.6 per cent, followed by the Sri Medan DUN (71.6 per cent) and the Sedili DUN (70.5 per cent).

However, the Penggaram DUN recorded the lowest voter turnout of 56.5 per cent, followed by DUN Bentayan and DUN Perling at 56.1 per cent each. – July 11, 2026
