The election saw 172 candidates vying for the 56 state seats up for grabs. - July 11, 2026


VOTING in the Johor state election has officially ended as polling stations across all 56 state constituencies closed at 6 pm.

The election saw 172 candidates vying for the 56 state seats up for grabs.

A total of 1,076 polling centres and 4,889 voting streams opened simultaneously at 8 am, allowing 2.6 million voters to decide the mandate for all 56 state seats.

Counting is underway now.

Election Commission chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun had earlier said the outcome could be determined by 10 pm following an upgrade to the commission's existing system.– July 11, 2026
