A WOMAN was killed while her husband was injured after their motorcycle collided with a wild boar along Kilometer 35 of Jalan Temerloh-Bahau yesterday.
The victim, Nor Harizan Muhamad Habri, 48, who was travelling as a pillion rider on a Yamaha motorcycle ridden by her husband, Kairil Akmal Zaibuddin, 50, died while receiving treatment at Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (HOSHAS), Temerloh, at about 4.25am today.
Bera district police chief Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir said the accident occurred at approximately 12.30pm yesterday when the couple was travelling from Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, to Charuk Puting in Temerloh.
“Initial investigations found that the motorcycle rider, Kairil Akmal Zaibuddin, 50, collided with a wild boar that suddenly crossed the road along the one-way route.
“As a result of the collision, the rider and his wife were thrown onto the road,” he said in a statement today.
Zulkiflee said both victims were initially taken to Hospital Bera for medical treatment before Nor Harizan was transferred to HOSHAS due to the seriousness of her injuries.
“However, the victim, who suffered serious head injuries, died several hours later,” he said.
Kairil Akmal is still receiving treatment at Hospital Bera after suffering injuries to his ribs.
Zulkiflee said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The wild boar involved in the collision was believed to have escaped into a nearby oil palm plantation area following the accident. - July 14, 2026
