Negeri Sembilan ruler revokes Rais Yatim’s state honours

The Darjah Seri Utama Negeri Sembilan (SPNS) was conferred on Mohd Rais in 2001, while the Darjah Dato’ Setia Negeri Sembilan (DSNS) was conferred on him in 1979.

NEGERI Sembilan ruler Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir has revoked the state honours conferred on Tan Sri Dr Mohd Rais Yatim, effective immediately.

The honours withdrawn are the Darjah Seri Utama Negeri Sembilan (S.P.N.S), which was awarded to Mohd Rais in 2001, and the Darjah Dato’ Setia Negeri Sembilan (D.S.N.S), which he received in 1979.

In a statement issued by the Negeri Sembilan State Honours Registrar’s Office today, the decision was made to safeguard the dignity, prestige and honour of the Negeri Sembilan royal institution.

The statement, dated July 30, 2026, was signed by Negeri Sembilan State Honours Registrar Dato’ Mohd Zafir Ibrahim.

The withdrawal of both honours takes effect immediately in accordance with Tuanku Muhriz’s decree. - July 30, 2026
