TWO 20-year-old men were killed in a crash involving two cars at KM18.2 of the Federal Highway towards Kuala Lumpur shortly after midnight today.

The victims, Muhammad Firdaus Md Rasid and Irwan Shah Rosban, were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said two other occupants of the Proton Wira Aeroback, both aged 19, were injured.

“The operations commander reported that the accident involved two cars and occurred when the Proton Wira hit the road divider, throwing its driver out of the vehicle before he was struck by the Proton Exora,” he told reporters today.

Three occupants of the Proton Exora — a woman and two men aged between 27 and 29 — escaped unhurt, he said.

The injured victims were taken to PPUM for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the police for further action.

Ashrul Riezal said the department received an emergency call at 12.27am and dispatched 14 personnel from the Subang Jaya and Bukit Jelutong fire and rescue stations, supported by two Fire Rescue Tenders and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit. - October 12, 2026
