MOTORISTS and hikers using the Fraser’s Hill–Kuala Kubu Bharu route in Selangor have been warned to exercise caution after a tiger was reportedly spotted roaming along the roadside near a forested area.
The sighting was shared in a viral post on Threads by an account named ‘peann999’, which included two photographs appearing to show the striped animal standing on the road shoulder.
According to the post, the tiger was spotted near the Gus Gap Chorocco trail, about 1km from the Fraser’s Hill junction in the direction of Kuala Kubu Bharu.
The post warned road users and hikers against stopping near the animal or approaching it.
“Do not stop, do not open your windows. Do not get out of your vehicle. This tiger has been spotted roaming by the roadside,” it said.
The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN), when contacted, said it was investigating the reported presence of the tiger. - October 10, 2026
