NINE suspicious packages found at schools in Negeri Sembilan contained only wheat flour and plastic plates, police said, as the Education Ministry urged school administrators nationwide to remain alert to potential security threats.
Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the ministry had left the investigation into the discoveries entirely to the police.
She stressed that the ministry remained cautious about any suspicious items found on school premises and called on principals, headmasters and school staff to stay prepared, particularly on matters involving school safety.
“We urge all principals, headmasters and school staff to remain prepared at all times, particularly in matters involving school safety,” she told reporters after officiating the “Fadhlina Membaca” reading club gathering in Melaka today.
She also thanked the Royal Malaysia Police for prioritising security at schools.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said yesterday that police had received nine reports concerning suspicious packages found at several schools in Nilai and Tampin.
