PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has set a target of winning 70 to 80 per cent of the seats it contests in the Nov 14 Melaka state election, with PKR vice-president R. Ramanan cautioning that the final days of campaigning could shift voter support.

Ramanan said the coalition had carefully assessed its candidates against party criteria and announced them earlier than in previous elections to give its election machinery more time to prepare.

“Previously, candidates were announced only two or three days before nomination day. This time, we made the announcement earlier to allow the machinery to prepare,” he told a press conference after the launch of the Dharma MADANI and Harmoni MADANI programmes in Putrajaya today.

He said the election outcome would depend on several factors, including changes in voter sentiment as polling day approached.

“We may appear strong today, but when polling day arrives, we do not know what the situation will be.

“Likewise, if we appear weak today, the situation can change. It depends on the wave that develops in the final two to three days,” he said. - October 27, 2026
