PAKATAN Harapan (PH) is maintaining its plan to contest 21 seats in the Nov 14 Melaka state election, with any changes to its allocation subject to a decision by the coalition’s leadership.

PH communications director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the coalition would focus on the seats already announced, while leaving the door open to adjustments.

“We have announced 21 seats. If there are any changes, we will leave it to the leadership to announce them,” he told reporters at the Lembah Pantai parliamentary constituency’s Deepavali contribution event at IWK Eco Park\@Pantai Dalam last night.

Fahmi said PH would assess its participation based on the coalition’s own capabilities and capacity, while taking strategic and tactical considerations into account.

He was responding to reports that PH could add three seats to its allocation, with PKR expected to receive one additional seat and Amanah two.

If finalised, the arrangement would increase PH’s total to 24 of the 28 seats in the Melaka state assembly.

Fahmi noted that other parties were expected to announce their candidates the following day, adding that PH would make its own assessment based on its ability to contest the seats.

The coalition has yet to confirm any change to its previously announced allocation. - October 29, 2026
