KUALA LUMPUR – Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has opted to observe self-quarantine measures despite testing negative for Covid-19 recently.
In a Twitter post today, the DAP lawmaker announced that he will be self-isolating until January 16 following close contact with an individual who tested positive for Covid-19 recently.
“Due to this, I will not be able to attend or participate in any activity at the nearest time. I would like to apologise for the difficulty this has caused.”
Lim is among the scores of politicians on both sides of the divide who have either tested positive or are observing quarantine recently.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed had announced that he was positive for Covid-19 in Kota Baru yesterday.
While Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun also confirmed she was positive for Covid-19 today following swab testing last night.
Mustapa’s attendance at last week's cabinet meeting has since prompted all ministers to conduct swab tests following close contact with him.
Education Minister Mohd Radzi Md Jidin has since tested negative for Covid-19, while Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof and Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah are self-isolating as a precautionary measure after undergoing swab tests yesterday. – The Vibes, January 11, 2021
