SINGAPORE – A 38-year-old Malaysian woman is among 41 new asymptomatic imported Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore yesterday.
Labelled “Case 59,586”, the work permit holder had arrived from her home country, said the Singaporean Health Ministry in its report last night.
A 39-year-old female permanent resident who returned from Malaysia is also among the asymptomatic imported cases.
The ministry said one imported case is a crew member of a vessel from Malaysia.
It said the 45-year-old man from the Philippines was taken to hospital upon developing symptoms, and subsequently tested positive for the coronavirus.
As of noon yesterday, Singapore recorded 48 new imported cases, seven of whom have symptoms.
The other imported cases are from Bangladesh, Colombia, Egypt, France, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
The republic reported no new local transmission.
With the latest cases, Singapore’s Covid-19 tally now stands at 59,308.
The ministry said the 48 imported cases have been placed on the stay-home notice or were isolated upon their arrival in the country.
