Sandakan limits vehicle entries from 4 virus red zones

SANDAKAN – Only vehicles transporting essential goods are allowed to enter the district here from Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna starting today.

Police have set up a roadblock at the Mile 32 checkpoint following a notice issued by Sandakan Municipal Council president Wong Foo Tin to prevent Covid-19 from spreading outside the four red zones.

Drivers will be subjected to a swab test at the roadblock, which will be in place until the coronavirus situation is under control.

All vehicles from Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna have to pass through the Mile 32 checkpoint to reach Sandakan. – The Vibes, September 30, 2020
