GEORGE TOWN – Representatives of private hospitals will join a Health Ministry (MoH) meeting today to discuss the Covid-19 vaccination programme.
Gleneagles Hospital Penang chief executive officer, Ivan Loh said the meeting this afternoon will address technical aspects, such as logistics, how it is going to be carried out, as well as support needed.
“We hope that all members of the public, both young and old, can play their role by taking the vaccine,” he told reporters at Penang Hospital (HPP), here.
Asked about concerns over the adverse effects of the Covid-19 vaccine, Loh said the chances of getting the side effects were still significantly low.
“There is a study (published by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) indicating that only 11 out of a million people have shown side effects after receiving Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine,” he added.
Earlier today, in line with the seventh day of the Chinese New Year, Gleneagles Hospital Penang distributed food and other necessities to frontliners and the needy to commemorate “Humans Day”. – Bernama, February 18, 2021
