KUALA LUMPUR – Ikea Cheras is closed again after several staffers and service partners tested positive for Covid-19.

In an announcement on its website, the company said the cases were detected after one of its scheduled tests.

Although the company did not disclose how many staff members are infected, Ikea Cheras said their last working days were between February 8 and 14.

All workers are now in self-quarantine until further notice from the authorities, it said.

“We are taking precautionary measures to close our Cheras store on February 19 to undergo the necessary sanitisation and full contact tracing in accordance with the Health Ministry’s standards.

“All our co-workers who were in close contact have already been placed on home quarantine and completed Covid-19 swab tests.”

Just last month, the store was closed for disinfection after its security guards tested positive for Covid-19 in a routine screening. – The Vibes, February 19, 2021
