IPOH – Perak DAP’s party elections held today resulted in victory for the incumbent state chairman Nga Kor Ming and his cousin Beruas MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham for the new term.

They managed to defend their post despite the ruckus involving the Thomas Su Keong Siong-M. Kula Segaran sect that happened earlier in the morning. Su and Kula were challenging the cousins for the top post.

Nga led with 1,228 votes while Ngeh got 1,216 votes.

The top 15 winners are Abdul Aziz Bari, Chaw Kam Foon, Cheah Pou Hian, Chong Zhemin, Ko Chung Sen, Lee Chuan How, Loh Sze Yee, Nga Kor Ming, Ngeh Koo Ham, Ong Boon Piow, Sivakumar Varatharaju Naidu, Sivanesan Achalingam, Teh Kok Lim, Wong Kah Woh, and Wong May Ing.

The duo have been leading the state DAP for the past 30 years.

Unfortunately, the challengers did not secure a place in the top 15.

DAP Youth head Howard Lee Chuan How told The Vibes that the Nga-Ngeh leadership has done a lot for Perak over the years. “They have adapted their leadership from when we only had one seat to now securing 18 state seats.

“Their leadership has seen DAP grow from strength to strength, a testament of the results DAP has secured in the past two elections,” he said, adding that the airing of dirty laundry has backfired on Su and Kula Segaran.

There was no commotion in the Su-Kula Segaran sect after the results were released. However the Nga-Ngeh supporters took the opportunity to boo all the contestants linked to the challenger faction when their names were called. – The Vibes, March 14, 2021
