KOTA BARU – Pakatan Harapan needs to sort out seat negotiations to ensure a straight fight against Perikatan Nasional in the 15th general election, said Kelantan Amanah chairman Datuk Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah.

During a Facebook live forum last night, he said PH needs to negotiate with all parties who are keen to take on PN in the east coast state to settle for a straight fight.

“A one versus one is better for all, including the voters. We should negotiate and ensure a straight fight.”

He said PH should liaise with Gua Musang MP Tan Sri Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, who is Umno adviser, and Perkasa founding president Datuk Ibrahim Ali on the matter.

“We want to ensure that PH is not only a strong coalition, but also one that is willing to cooperate with the opposition to challenge PN.”

He said Kelantan voters will prefer this.

Wan Rahim is a former confidant of late PAS spiritual adviser and Kelantan menteri besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

In the 2018 general election, Kelantan saw several multi-cornered fights involving Amanah, PKR, PAS and Umno, with PAS taking a sweeping victory in more than one seat.

“We need to provide a strong alternative, as PAS, after 30 years of rule, has reached stagnation,” said Wan Rahim.

“They are not offering anything new other than what the administration of the late Nik Aziz had offered.

“The state continues to be embroiled in basic issues, such as lack of water supply, abuse of land administration and poor wages of religious teachers.” – The Vibes, April 4, 2021
